From a Tiny Pizza Shack to 200+ Kitchens: The Casadei Foods Story

It all started in a little pizza shack at Netil Market in East London back in 2019.

At the time, we weren’t planning to become a food manufacturer. We were simply making great pizzas and trying to create the best possible experience for our customers.

There was just one problem: we couldn’t find a plant-based mozzarella that delivered the melt, stretch, and flavour we were looking for. Everything we tried fell short of what we believed a great pizza deserved.

So, we did what many independent businesses do when they can’t find the right solution, we made our own.

What started as a way to improve our pizzas quickly became an obsession. We spent countless hours testing recipes, tweaking ingredients, and refining every detail until we created a mozzarella that performed the way we wanted it to.

That little experiment turned into Casadei Foods.

Today, we’re proud to supply more than 200 establishments across the UK, helping pizzerias, restaurants, and food businesses serve plant-based dishes without compromising on quality. And we’re now in conversations to bring Casadei Foods to even more kitchens across Europe.

While we’ve grown, our values haven’t changed. We’re still 100% independent!

We’re still driven by curiosity, constantly improving our products and pushing for better plant-based alternatives.

And we’re still guided by the same mission we had in that tiny East London pizza shack: to create delicious food that people genuinely want to eat.

Looking back at where we started reminds us how far we’ve come, but it also reminds us that this is only the beginning.
